Which Brake kit would anyone suggest cuz im lookin into it and i dont know if i want Mugen/Spoon please post pics?

What are your goals with the car? Search and figure out what product hold the most benifits for you. Chances are you can save yourself a grand by just getting better pads.

Stock ITR brakes are pretty awesome (just get racing pads and disposable OEM or Autozone rotors). NSX or Legend calipers are a cheap-ish upgrade.

The Type R is tire limited not brake limited - so unless you are getting fade at the track after multiple high speed braking episodes - there is absolutely no need to improve the braking system - you're better off spending money on better tires that provide more grip.

The Spoon brakes are lighter and are multi-piston - which will improve modulation and decrease unsprung weight a bit. But you use stock sized rotors - which means your available heat sink is the same - so fade resistance will not improve.

The Mugen system uses larger rotors and S2000 calipers. Generally speaking the larger rotors will provide better fade resistance and the bigger calipers will give you better modulation --- but the price of the system is $$$$$ for gains that can be had with better pads and tires on the stock R brakes. You also need 16" rims to clear the calipers - so you won't be able to use the stock R rims anymore.

So - in conclusion - you are much better off upgrading the pads to a better quality variety and using cheap Autozone rotors and saving your money for high quality rubber.

IMO, spoon/mugen brakes aren't worth it. 5.1 brake fluid, agressive front pads, and you're good to go.

Which hawk pads?

Because the blues are horrible with evil sticky dust. And don't mention if you get the dust wet. It'll never come off.

But on the positive side the blues stopped the car very nicely.

The Cobalts are just more user friendly with better feel for modulation imo.

I agree w/ everyone.
If $$ is no object then go ahead w/ the brake kit. Otherwise get aggressive pads. I got Cobalt VRs, and they made an unbeleivable difference, w/ no fading all day long on the track. I admit, brake kits look awesome, but I would spend the extra money on track time before buying brake kit.

High performance pads make noise period. If that bothers you - then high performance brakes are not for you. You should switch back to OEM pads.

i wouldnt mind getting the mugen kit, but i do like the spoon calipers being lightweight and all.but i agree w/ bpr and what everyone else says...id rather have some hawk blues w/some brembo rotors and some good fluid..to each his own

True, I say just stick with the brakes u got now and maybe upgrade the brake fluid. The Project MU brakes are fine for the type of driving we do......Besides, ITR brakes are the shizzz!!

I like things that are easy to get service/support on and I dont need to wait for them on a slow boat from Japan.... i.e. carbotech, koni, etc...
