Default Question for a friend (gasoline spill in car)

My boss spilled gasoline all over the inside of his Impala SS.

He needs a whole new carpet for the car, but does anyone have any insight as to how to get the smell out?

Thanks

-Ross

A match will get rid of the smell, but add a new smell...

Chris - definitely not helpful.

i double febreze. gets out every dog odor on the planet. i'd also try to let his car sun dry itself out, a little bit, as well...

I used a combination of degreaser and Pine-sol for a fresh clean Pine scent after I dumped about a half a gallon on gas in my hatch..... Alot of water and a wet dry vac is your friend.

If you already got the gas out you might want to use a trick I learned to get rid of vomit smell. On the area affected, pour ground coffee. Since it's not wet you can vacume the grains out later.

I know this sounds kinda dumb, but when your on a long trip and some one yacks this gets totally rid of the smell. I don't know about gas but it can't be that strong.

Is that safe to be driving with gas fumes? Talk about driving under the influence.
