Default How much are you willing to pay for a type r?

So? How high are you willing to go? I know most of you will say, "Well it depends", but let's be real here. I know everyone has a budget and even if you found a GRAND deal, if it's out of your budget you wouldn't touch it. Of course like any car, to sell it we have to sell it for less than what we think it's worth. Not only that, but the majority of buyers prefer to buy stock. I'm not going to post my mods or pics and I hope no one else will too. I don't want this thread to turn into a "what's it worth" thread. I rather have a, "this is what a R is worth to me".

a type r isn't worth more than 8,000 dollars to me..
Being stock or modded.. id be too scared of it getting stolen, or in an accident. So I would rarely drive it therefore wouldnt pay more than 8k.. imo

The purpose is me asking a personal question about the realistic value of a R. It's a personal question and I come online to stay annynomous. You're trying to tell me that since I don't post pictures of my car and post in this section then I should be seen as a lying outcast? This isn't high school and my question is legit. The way I see it is that I don't need credibility on this site if I'm not here to sell anything. I'm not breaking ToS. Are you?

The question is broad. All depends on the caR and what ppl are willing pay. So not sure how to answer your question. Your best bet is to just search online for type r's for sale.

It really comes down to condition, mileage, history, and how much money you have to spend on one. Then finding the best deal in your budget. I'm one of those people that simply cannot believe how low the asking price is on a lot of these cars that we see posted up for sale. I don't think it's going to stay that way forever.

I don't really care how much they sell for personally. I'm going to keep mine forever.

The question is asking people for their personal input. I'm not looking for people to throw out a general cost for one. I'm asking a personal question about what the car is worth to them, not about what they think it's worth to everyone. Like I said, I'm asking a personal question.

C'mon guys. I'm not asking for your opinion on how to price out a car. I'm asking about how YOU personally value a ITR. I know many of you see the ITR as more than just another car and others probably see it the other way around. How much would you realisticallly pay for a ITR, where is the cap that you wont go over.

HOW we value an ITR is not related to how we price it?

I guess if everything was stock and there were ~100k miles on all of the following, with clean title and all up to date maintenance and the car had no history of being beat on (so no track days or autocross prior to my ownership):

1997 - $12.5k
1998 - $10k
2000 - $11k
2001 - $11.5k

Wow people like you give honda owners a bad name no reason for that comment. My budget would be 14k for a low milage clean title well maintained R maybe a lil higher or lower depending on condition I picked up my stripped salvage title 1 for 1900 from my friend

There's a py with 29k for 15.5k for sale. It's been for sale for like 2 months. I would be concerned with the history then miles.

Becoming much harder to find in mint, original condition and low miles. You're prob not old enough to have learned this yet, but when supply goes down guess which way demand goes???

I am thoroughly confused as to the point of this topic after having thought what might be an otherwise interesting thread.

I’m not an ITR owner. But according to me, and my secret-secret CD account that even the fiancé doesn’t know about, my next car will unquestionably be an R. So I, above most other people, am especially interested in following the current value and condition of Rs.

I thought at first you were calling upon people like me who are in the market of buying an R, having as a title, “How much are you willing to pay for a Type R”. I thought, OK, I’m gonna see a poll with different increments to choose from. But then you twice responded saying it’s a thread about what R owners feel their car’s are personally worth and that is a totally different topic altogether. As someone already said, how you value something is not related to how it’s priced.

I was misled a second time when you put a description next to the price tag. Please explain to me how 8k-10k = “Meh, just another car”? Are you saying that those who buy an R under 10k consider their purchase on the same level as any other car? Or if someone priced their R for 10k they consider the value of their car to any other 10k car – one of the many late model RSX-S’s, for example. The reason why I’m thrown off is because while I have the funds to buy most top-dollar Rs, every one of them is impractical, whether it’s because they were well built or well kept and I’m neither looking for a street king nor a garage queen. Therefore, I am not willing to pay more than what most R’s I believe should be priced at which is around the 10-11k range. Perhaps I’m too easily content with just owning an R, but I definitely don’t want to drive any other car.

Just like LouEm1 says, this thread is all about what the OP "thinks" R's should be priced. I'd go to my grave w/ my R before I let it go for 10k and I'm sure there are a ton of owners who feel the same.

R's are worth what someone is willing to pay. In some cases thats $8,000. In others $20,000. The poll choices quite frankly suck

Really depends on condition. I passed on a 98 with 101k the other day for 7k. Overall, the car was okay condition and needed just a little tlc but I just couldnt justify spending that type of cash on her.

If someone offered me the chance to buy my old car again. PY 2000 #779 brand new with like 3 miles on the odometer for retail price that I paid the first time when I bought it at the dealership. It was $31500.00 CDN + tax. I would do it.

For my current car I paid $11500 Canadian for it a few years ago. I could see it getting a $15k CDN price if I actually wanted to sell it, which I don't. The mileage is getting up there for sure (94k miles) but it's NOT in the kind of shape one would expect at it's mileage. It's in really superb condition. Mileage is only part of the story. You have to look at the overall picture. If you want to value your own stuff ask yourself how much you would be willing to pay for it and set the price there.
