Keep the swap if you can. If not, start at 3500.

What year, miles, mods?

Do you plan on doing any work to the motor before you put it in? What are your plans for it?

just buy a bare integra shell and swap teh k24 in there. Don't ruin the R's because they are overpriced as **** and you can make good coin selling it with the OG motor.

I love the ITR so much and not planning to sell it.
I want my ITR to be competitive , coz i see the ITR is lack of power.

With 170k on the original motor you wouldn't be loosing much by building that motor for turbo. I've seen numbers as high as 760whp put out my turbo B series. Of couse, the necessary work needs to be done to the motor to achieve that kind of power, and you'll need the right turbo kit.

I say go for the k if you're keeping the car. I've seen stock turbo k20's make 600whp with just pistons, rods and head studs. The stock sleeves are pretty strong... The only downfall is ruining the R...

You'd deffinitly want to make sure you sleeve the B18C5 block before you run to many pounds of boost on it. But he's right, the stock sleeves on the K series are stronger, but you'd be ruining an ITR..

Resale value of a modified R goes way down... especially with engine swaps...

I'd say keep the C5. If your that bent on doing a swap get another car to do it in. I'm all about mods on my ITR but I'll never do a K swap in it. I'd be more than willing to do a K in an old EG, EJ, EK or DC. Keep the og motor!

Go for the k20/k24. K series is the best motor out there. What other honda motor can you get 300whp ALL MOTOR? I have a sleeved 2.0L NA ITR and I am DEFINITELY going k20/k24 next spring/summer.

x2 man! everyone will tell you "dont molest the R...blah blah blah" little do people know that swaping in a K involves only drilling one motor mount's welds out.

if you want to sell it with its original motor just re weld the engine mount in and call it a day. as for the shifter mechanism hybrid racing makes a box that is all BOLT ON. so no cutting is involved.

i think if people have not done the swap themselves and experienced the retarded amounts of power K's (yes with simple OEM parts) have to offer they should not hate and leave negative comments about the process. yes it might be a little more $ but it is most def worth it.

and yes you can bet your sweet *** there is a K in my R too

Ruining the R's value? Holy ****, we drive $15K civics. Ive seen them as low as $9K now. Get over yourselves folks (nobody in specific, just general). Its not like we drive $200K Ferrari's. I mean, put things in perspective, we own Acura's for crying out loud.

Yes, there are enough K parts out there where you dont have to cut anything but your passenger side mount. Then you can buy the mount from Honda and reweld it. Like omiehomie said, shifter boxes can be mounted using factory holes. AC can work just like factory, so can power steering!

I would purchase an ITR with a K than the factory B series anyway. The B series will get spanked by a K all day, track, street, driver for driver, mod for mod.

As for selling that 170K b series engine, just rebuild that thing or dont plan on getting much for it. You can get a K24A2 head/block for ~$2K. Si Trans for ~$1K. Thats $3K for the swap! (less the accessories).

When I see people wanting close to $4700 for their C5's, I just laugh.

Perfectly tuned for what power exactly? Are you high?

Why do the brakes need upgrading? You need to research before posting noob!

when i read this, i assumed he meant the car in general was built for the 200bhp b18c5. either way, speaking on behalf of some of the k owners, ive never been disappointed with my k20 dc2. and its a full k20a2 swap...not even lsd! if you're worried about power, dont be. my car is untuned with bolt-ons, and i still pulled away from a b18c5 swap with 210whp on a back straight. just remember there can always be improvements with each. my k with an lsd for sure will shave time off my laptimes, but put me in a pack of itr's i wont be the fastest (my suspension setup sucks), but im faaaaarr from the slowest.

competitive where? In drag racing? In dyno number threads on innanetz? FYI your integra (with it's lack of power that you claim) is very competitive on the road course.
