JDM vs. USDM Side mirrors! Help meeee
What's up HT!!!!!
SO here's there deal... This isnt for my ITR, it's for my EM1 I just picked up... but since the rest of honda-tech is such a sea of retards, I figured maybe I would try with you guys first before posting in the abyss.
So here's the situation... I'm hoping some of you JDM conversion guys will know the secret here...
I want EK9 CTR mirrors on my EM1, yes they just bolt right on... but you cant really see anything out of the mirros becuase they are angled for a RHD driver.
So here is what I am wanting to do, use the JDM EK9 mirror base, and a usdm DC2 mirror housing (The housings look identical by style)... but then I started to wonder ... Oh maybe it's not the mirror housing thats the problem... maybe the mirror base for the JDM mirrors is where the difference is...
So the big question is this, what portion of the jdm mirrors produce the major angle for a LHD or RHD driver.... is it the base? or the mirror housing?
At first I was sure it was the mirror housing, but after some serious thought, I think it's probably the base... which sucks if I am correct.
So the solutions are like this...
1) JDM mirror base is the source of RHD sight angle, then I need to use ebay ctr style mirrors for their base and bolt on oem DC2 usdm mirror housings.
2) JDM mirror housing is the source of RHD sight angle, then I will use JDM mirror base with usdm dc2 mirror housing.
Any thoughts? I know this isnt ITR specific, but hopefully someone with an ITR has already been here and figured this out on the DC2 chassis.

Thanks so much, pretty much figured that was the case.. doesnt really make sense that the housing would be angled.
Fack and I cant find anyone that sells those lovely ctr replica mirrors... why did honda have to make em1 mirrors so ugly.
