JDM HID bulbs?

Re: JDM HID bulbs? (JDMsurf)
9006 for the low beam and h1 for the high beam.
If you got the HID conversion, I hope it came with HIDS. If not, you may want to add 9006 D2S hid buls with a hid ballast.

so if I get OEM HID housings WITHOUT the ballast/bulb, I can just get an aftermarket 9006 D2S kit and it will fit? And the beam pattern will be the same as well? I saw a set of HID housings without the bulb/ballast on Ebay a while ago, so I'm guessing they're pretty easy to come by. Seems like an easier solution to putting OEM HID headlights with the 94-97 spec ABS unit.

if you have the OEM HID housings w/o the ballast and bulb, you would need to buy some aftermarket ballasts. the 9006 bulbs will NOT work. you will still need to buy D2S bulbs..connect them to your ballast, plug into housing... OEM HID goodness again (yes beam pattern will be same as OEM... since it relies on the housing/projector).

so what base would the bulb have to be? D2S describes the BULB itself, right? and 9006/H4/etc describe the base/connector? b2finity mentioned 9006 D2S bulbs...
