Re: itr vs elise
No battle. Just looks like 2 cars stuck in traffic to me. I'm guessing that Elise would walk away on an open track...
To me it appears the ITR is overcooking every corner. Notice how he never has a smooth exit on any turns. Probably could pick up a bit of time and speed down the straights if he set up the corner entries a little better.
Fun to watch though.

Re: itr vs elise
yeah i always thought elise will just blow itrs away at a track but this one keeps up pretty good.
i thought there was an exige in the very front and elise then the itr. i didnt think there was any traffic since the fastest car is in the front.

Re: itr vs elise
in front of the elise looks like a caterham superlight? and as much as i am an ITR fanboy as well, the R is simply not in the same class as an elise. BUT the elise i have heard is much worse than the ITR for daily driving, so we win there
in the corners though, if the R driver was as good as the elise driver, then it would be close. but on the straights i think the elise would win every time; just look at how fast it pulls out of a corner.

ya there is that silver super 7 or whatever that is.
but all 3 cars pass him later.
i would think the elise will out corner itrs anyday but they're not that fast on a straightaway.
my next dream car is elise tho.. i f king love them..

Re: itr vs elise
I have personal been in a elise but never had the chance to drive it b4. That thing is fast but I don't think it handle as good as a itr. Your talking about weight to power. A elise is like half of a itr weight and has the same power too. Its like a eg with a k20 motor tuned. I Think if you have a very good driving itr, it should be able to take the elise. All I know is that when my buddy was driving his elise we was sliding all over the roads. Haha it was fun but lagging on the coners. So thats where the itr comes in and takes first place but that's coming from me.

Re: itr vs elise
From this past ITR Expo, a friend of mine who owns an Elise went on track with our group while I had Shields Bergstrom driving my R. My buddy commented that it was expected that he would loose a little ground while cornering because his tires were crap, but he stated that on the straights the R would still walk away from him.
I am not sure about the rate inwhich we would pull away. Also, I am not sure about any mods his Elise has or doesn't have but the only power addders on my R are Mugen intake, Spoon header, HyTech TL exhaust and a 4.7 FD.

Re: itr vs elise
Imperfect driving in who-knows-how-modified cars = worthless comparison, for comparison's sake. I enjoyed watching the Elise guy overdrive the car a bit, such a pretty car to watch move. The ITR driver has a few things to learn still.
Random other note: The Elise at Expo last year was kind of slow. Maybe it was tires, maybe it was experience, but I've been on track with MUCH faster Elises/Exiges before.

Re: itr vs elise
The owner has plenty of experience, I am not sure about the experience level of the other guy who borrowed the car but I know I wouldn't drive somebody elses car 8 or 9/10ths.... **** I won't even drive mine 8 or 9/10ths.
My post was to counterpoint someones post about the Elise walking away from the ITR on an open track. As far as handling, we all should know its mainly the comfort level and experience of the individual driver.
IIRC, the tires were Dunlop Direzzas, def. not something we'd want to use on track. This is why I stated that he knew he wouldn't keep up in the corners, it was just surprising to me at least, that he'd lose ground on the straights as well.
We could make this arguement for the countless track videos of ITRs passings any number of cars. It makes owning this underpowered econo box great.

stock itr vs stock elise.
for sure the elise is gonna be faster.
but modded itr vs elise all depends whats done to it and all depends on the driver.

Re: itr vs elise
What are the specs of that Elise? FWD, RWD? The last Elise I reviewed had about 150whp on a Toyota motor. I don't see how it is so much better on the track then an ITR. But yet I don't know too much about them other then I'd take an ITR over one any day in the looks department.
