Default Intake and Fuel Economy

I have a k&n filter on my stock tube minus the resonator. I think my fuel economy is getting bad. A drive from san francisco to san jose eats up a little more than quarter tank. Keep in mind, I am driving at a constant 80mph. Is this normal?

i've noticed that after i installed my intake, fuel was the same but kind of got bad. I guess it was because i just wanted to hear the intake sound more.

A trip from San Francisco to San Jose runs about 50 miles.

If you are going through a little more than 1/4 tank
(out of a 13 gallon tank), that means you've consumed
approximately 3.25 gallons, resulting in 15.4 miles per gallon.

That's pretty bad considering a stock ITR should run about
24-25 miles per gallon in the city and 28-29 mpg hwy.

The best that I've personally done is 31 mpg (342 miles hwy
on one tank, using 11 gallons -- as indicated on the pump when
filling up at my destination).

My averages only run 25mpg city/29mpg hwy though.

maybe try resetting the ECU?

my fuel economy sucks, i get about 275 miles/tank. but then again, i drive pretty aggressively, so . . .

on the highway i tend to get about 28mpg. i think a properly-tuned VAFC could really help out in the fuel economy department, not to mention the power department.
