How to quieten my exhaust?
i just recently had my JDM 4-1 installed with high flow cat and custom 2.5inch piping + some kind of resonator, my muffler is a 5Zigen Fireball.
before the header i had only custom 2.5piping and the 5zigen fireball muffler, it sounded nice not very loud at all. Since i added the JDM header and took out the stock resonator, its now twice as loud. The sound is so anoyying i cannot stand it anymore........ the tone is raspy high pitched and crackly.
My Question is this: will getting a bigger resonator make it sound quieter and better? can u have 2 resonators? or is it just my 5 Zigen Muffler making it sound horrible and loud?

get a silencer for your fireball.

i dont want to have to resort to using a silencer because that to me just defeats the purpose of the system.

has anyone thought of spraying rubberized undercoating or sound deadener in the exhaust 'tunnel' under the car?

cut lots of little holes in the tip, and run wire through the holes crossing the tip opening. looks super ghetto and is, but works. A number of IT cars do this to squeeze under the 103db limit.
or get a good flowing, but quiet muffler.

umm you need a resonator, whyd you take out the stock one.haha i bet it sounds like *** now sorta like a dirt bike

In my opinion, a resonator may improve the sound,
if its straight though, its not going to make it much more quet..
The most difference would be made if you switch to oval muffler.
5zigen silencer cost about $30-40 USD.

But on a 2.25" tip the holes were fairly closely spaced, so if I had to guess probably 50 times across a 2.25" pipe, but that's merely a guess.

2. Buy a 22" x 2.5" magnaflow resonator from SMSP on this board and have that welded in... this won't hurt performance, but will reduce noise.
