How much is a Salvaged R worth?

Re: How much is a Salvaged R worth?
Nobody wants to buy a boosted car like that because they think it has been abused and if something were to happen it is would cost alot to replacethe motor.
So take off the turbo kit, check to see if the engine is still healthy and then list it for around 9K firm. There are always alot of people who will offer low prices. You have to remember that the ITR market is fairly small and it takes time to sell these cars especially a salvaged one. But the car is definitely worth around 9K so dont stray too far from that price.

Re: How much is a Salvaged R worth?
maybe its not selling due to the car having a jdm engine, much less turbo'd you will never get the car legally to pass smog?
you have to look at the big picture, yea your car is very nice regardless of the salvage title but the buyer will now have to deal with the hassle of smogging it legally.
and after spending lets say $10,000 to buy the car. do you think a buyer wants then to have to a hassle with an engine he/she will have problems smogging in the future?
not alonely that but its a jdm engine, which if pulled over and the hood popped will be another much more drastic problem for the buyer.
good luck on the sale but that engine needs to go.

daaaaaaaaaaamn if i had the cash i'd pick this up right now! lol but seriously i would pay between 8 and 10 easily with out blinking an eye for it, and i can't even make it pay check to pay check. lol but seriously lowballers FTL!! you'll get what you want if you wait long enough, you're probably getting such low offers because a grip of fan boys want to buy it and just smash the **** out of it.

Yes I would. I am in the process of trying to get rid of my All Motor set up to build a BIG Turbo Race car. So with the money that I would get from the R - I would rather buy me an automatic comfy car. I am stuck in Los Angeles traffic daily. Aggresive clutch, no AC is killer. Plus my boss gets mad at me because she can't hear me 1/2 the time while I am on the phone with her lol "WHAT IS ALL THAT NOISE" - Bitch..... Its my Type R foo lol

'd or modified) you know off the bat that it won't pass smog. When I bought it I knew it wouldn't pass. I could have sat next to the car and wondered how will I ever get this thing to pass smog. But then it hit me, I live in East Los Angeles. Pay someone $150 and WALLA your car passed smog. - Its no big deal, as far as having the hood popped open - MAJORITY OF cops don't know what the hell to look for. Unless you have a Big Block under your hood of your civic lol - I've been pulled over many times, and unless you don't know that in order for a cop to pop your hood, open your trunk, or search you car he must have a search warrant. But I don't push my luck. I just keep my car simple. Heck it is not even lowered, the intercooler is painted black. So I don't floss and I also don't drive like an idiot, not do I put funny wings, stickers, or body kits that scream PULL ME OVER I AM A RICER!

6-7k IMO. Clean title ITRs can be found in the 8-10k range, and the mods add zero to the value of the car. Also, salvage title cars are harder to buy, pretty much has to be a cash purchase, so you are buyer-limited also. GLWS though.

Re: How much is a Salvaged R worth?
You see I have a hard time believing that.... The Chasis is Salvaged not the motor. Go and buy a complete ITR swap and see what that puts you back. Maybe 4 G's???? Plus paying someone to put it on your CIVIC - Another 5-800? (after labor, spark plugs, oil, etc.) So That is almost 5K. If that was indeed that case, I would just save another $1500 and get me a complete ITR - EVEN IF IT WAS SALVAGED. Its not that easy buddy. Anyone else agree?

Re: How much is a Salvaged R worth?
This really is a nice R no doubt. Well put together and brought back from being stolen. But in all honesty, and this is just my own opinion, having all that done to it already kind of lowers the value of it. Yes, you've put alot of money into it, but a stock R will sell way higher than your asking price any day (That's why it is so rare to find them). Then again, your R is DEFINITELY not worth anything less than $8k that's for damn sure. I'm sure you'll find a buyer for her. If you're willing to make it all somewhat-stock again (engine wise) and negotiate with the price, then hell I'm even interested in getting it.

If I get a deposit, I will put it all back to stock and recharge the AC lol - I will get dirty again but for a serious buyer ONLY. I have everything in my garage ready to go.

Re: How much is a Salvaged R worth?
I've only ran the car on low boost. It did a best E.T. of 9.0 @ 80mph - If I ran it the way it is now I can easily dip into the 8.3 area, I am talking 1/8 times. If not maybe even lower.
@ 304hp and 248tq - 23" slicks ACT clutch yada yada yada people tell me I should hit low 12 sec times. If that is the case I think I have a pretty strong daily driven R.

However, the value of a clean title car is higher than a salvage title car, period. And you can find clean title cars for 8-10k (I bought one 3 months ago for 8500 with no issues other than minor dings).
These cars held their values for a long time, but they are dropping now. IMO they'll level out again soon.

Building a car will always be more expensive than buying a complete car.
