Re: horsepower question (BlueR)
sorry shoulda said dc2. Well, sgt, can I ask you just how I can see written proof that the 200ps would translate to 197hp? I really need to know, I'm trying to win a bet...

Re: horsepower question (itr01-0851)
PS = Pferdstarke = 746 Watts
It is the French derived unit for power (Hp = British and kW = metric)
Actually it is used just about every were else other than the US.
Also, in Europe, the DIN standard for measuring HP is different from the SAE standard. A car may be quoted as 200hp DIN or 197hp SAE. The car is the same power but the conditions used to determine the power (atmospheric temp, pressure etc.) varies slightly.

Re: horsepower question (erottik-R)
sgT, I do believe you, I was just asking you to help me prove it beacuse my boi and I have been arguing that the jdm dc2 ITR is 197 while he says 200. Honda's japanese website lists it as 200 ps, and I'm trying to prove that 200 would mean 3hp less making it 197hp. I just need to prove that ps is 3hp more than an hp listing.
