Did you have any problems before you did the fluid change? A fluid change alone will not solve more serious issues.

What fluid did you use? Honda MTF hopefully?

How much did you refill it with?

Did it feel the slightest bit better right after the change?

Mine feels noticeably smoother after a flush/change. But I also don't have any tranny issues and I also change the fluid at least once a season and the car doesn't accrue more than 3k miles a year.

Step 1 - Drain Honda MTF
Step 2 - Light Honda MTF on fire
Step 3 - Pour good fluid in

Try changing the brake fluid in the clutch master cylinder and bleed the system. Had some problems with this before. Usually that fluid gets black witch should be a sign of moisture getting in.

I had the problem before I changed the fluid. I used Honda MTF. I filled it according to Helms, adding "oil until it runs out..." ( p13-3 ). After the change...same. I have a really hard time getting into gear sometimes.

Do you think maybe it's the clutch?

thx

I wasnt. Maybe if your car is not driven much, or only street driven and not driven hard, the MTF is fine for you. It works fine in my accord. But i'm not going to pretend that my R has led a "only driven on sundays to church" life, and the MTF just feels like crap. I also need to replace the throwout and mainshaft bearings, and possibly a synchro sleeve set if that is any indication.

Amiss with his car not yours.

I have been through the MTF posts backwards and forwards and personally just figured if everything is doing fine by me then I really don't need anything else, at least not yet. I don't have any tranny issues thus far and I track far less than you so I don't find it neccessary to upgrade this fluid yet.

Yeah but you drive it only a few thousand miles a year.

When I was using the Honda MTF i was flushing after every weekend. I went 6 weekends (+ autox use) on my last change with Motul Gear300. I believe Willis was/is changing after every weekend also.

could be your clutch or master cylinder. the same thing happened to me and the clutch was worn down to the rivets. also the pilot bearing was destroyed. i'm willing to bet its your clutch.
