Default going price for 5 USDM lug conversion

Looking to get a conversion for my hatch. What is the average price? What is the difference between 36mm and 32mm?

650-700. 32mm came on usdm itr's and ctr's. 36mm came on 98 spec itr's. No difference far as i know.

the difference is in the size of the axles. some people have a hard time replacing the 36mm axles.

id say keep your eyes open for the deals that come with stock itr wheels for 1000 bucks.

Why? Age-old argument, but why add weight to a hatchback, especially weight right there?

I never will understand the 5-lug swap on a 88-00 hatchcrap. All that money you put into the swap and you could've had a better BBK and kept the weight down, all at the same time.

I put 5 lug on my dd eg because essentially got it for free and it's nice to be able to swap wheels with the R.

Why not? I think most cars look good with 5 lug. I put it on pretty much all of my cars.

I get the JDM ones with wheels for like $1050 ish shipped. W/O wheels for like $700ish shipped. Going rates are about 1500 and 1000 respectively. The 36mm axle thing is no big deal. I figured out a solution like a year ago.

One lugnut per wheel is worth $1K+ per car and the weight penality hit?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Are you still getting these?

The prices listed in the post sound good to me. Looking for a 5 lug swap with wheels. If anyone has a set or know anyone that does, let me know.

This.

I like being able to swap wheels - and it's not *that much* weight

Another is that the Integra R uses the same brake parts from the CR-V and Prelude. Maybe parts might be cheaper for those.

4-lug Civic/Integra pads and rotors are extremely cheap. I find it difficult to believe that 5-lug would be a better value.

When it comes to unsprung weight, you know that a little bit compounds the equation.

What was the difference?

And for under $1K, you can buy a set of 4x100 10lb 15x7 Enkeis.

"Value" is not a good argument IMO

it's not unless you want the big time increase in brake performance of the itr gear vs base model

parts wise base brakes are roughly half the cost of the ITR, depending on what you get it can be even less than 1/2 price

the other problem you'll have is actually finding a usdm 5 lug with decent bushings. they really don't come up for sale THAT often.

mostly jdm itr stuff on the market. and or stolen usdm

I would agree with you. If I owned a civic or integra with 4 lugs, I'll just leave it as is.

Actually didn't think about the cost of a light set of wheels would be around the same. Haven't driven the hatch yet, will be setting up the deal this weekend.

The difference between the Type R and a GSR or LS is significant, totally blew me away on the first drive.

Thanks for the info on the axles, that cleared up the muddy waters.

i like 5 lug for the reason of being able to get different rims. some only come in 5 lug.

i want em because i think the type SH blades look nice on integras.

Value = mine was technically free, including wheels and tires

Like another poster said, certain wheels only come in 5lug.

And the braking upgrade is significant.

The brakes on my ef are eye popping good - stock itr calipers.

I'm keenly aware of the unsprung weight. I may get custom chromoly knuckles to combat this.

But all my other cars are 5lug and for me it just makes sense.

* on my new ef project, I'm having some custom 5lug hubs made by my machinist friend - for $200/ pr, that's much more reasonable than what's oem available.
I started to do a groupbuy, but the thread got locked.

I wish I could find some stock usdm type r wheels!! Actually I finally got some but real crappy condition... need paint but that's another topic. So it looks like 700-1000 is the going rate for a 5 lug, not bad.

Obviously you have zero concern for weight, then. Those are 21lb 16" rims.

4x100 BBK can be had with aluminum hat rotors and ITR-sized calipers. Best of both worlds and much lighter than OEM ITR 5-lug.

What wheels, other than heavy OEM wheels, only come in 5x114? Volk, SSR, Enkei, etc can all be had in 4x100 and 5x114 (unless you want to run 18's or something, and that kinda defeats the purpose anyways).

I'm keenly aware of the unsprung weight. I may get custom chromoly knuckles to combat this.
That's really the key to this though, isn't it? Part of what makes the hatchcraps light are the lightweight "strong enough" OEM components. Once you start replacing those, you've basically built an ITR with a flimsy chassis.
