Front Tow Hook ?
Hello,
Now I have tried searching in H-T and on the web for instructions on how to install a front tow hook on a JDM front-end Integra. I have turned up nothing, not even pics, so could you guys please help me. I just recently bought a set of Benen tow hooks and the rear is no problem, but the front I can't figure out. Now I've found pics of USDM Integra's with front tow hooks installed but nothing for JDM Integra's. The USDM ones look like they mounted it on the bumper support, but you can't do this on the JDM front cause the bumper support is way too thin. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Why not just put it on the same way? Are you actually going to tow with the tow-hook? If you need to tow, you can always use the oem ones on the belly of the car.

Yeah, I was actually going to use it to tow. But, I guess if I can't find out the correct way to install it, I might have to put it on that way.

From my understanding the tow hook shold be bolted directly to the cars frame rail, or if you still have it front rebar. My car has a JDM front end converstion and no front rebar so I would have to attach it to the framerails.

Re: Front Tow Hook ? (P1_Variable)
i hate to revive an old thread...
but jus got back frm the body shop...
for OTHER body work
but decided to drop off some benen tow hooks while i was at it
was told that if the benen front tow hook were to be mountd on the frame rail...
which btw is THE most desired location as far as functionality is concernd...
it will not stick out enough on a jdm front
instead...
a custom metal piece might need to be fabricatd in order for it to work...
with the intent of it sticking out through the grill
otherwise...
shop said that we could do it directly off the frame rail...
but it would involve cutting of the front bumper...
and for those who own jdm fronts...
it would be a diff. story if it were jus any old regular civic bumpr
jus thought i'd shed some light on that...
i DO plan on getting the front installd someway...somehow...
i will post pics and a possible write-up

if your bumper support is too thin then i see you just putting on the tow hook just for looks.... either way you would have to drill a hole in the bumper support to install it either way..

I have hooks on my car because they are required by some circiuts here. Basically, I had to remove the stock hooks and fabricate a bracket to bolt the hook onto. You need to be a bit inovative with some of them because they aren't all plug and play.
