Finally installed my flywheel and fd!! (A SPEEDSTAR project)
After months of hype, research, and a lot of ball breaking, I finally got my ACT prolit flywheel and JDM final drive installed at Speed Star. I must say I love it! The car rocks! It pulls harder (sometimes I'll lose traction peel out all of first....smiling like a little boy!), shifting is smoother, downshifting is easier, I am pretty much very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it!
I don't want to get into ANOTHER flywheel and fd review, cuz we pretty much know what the result is, but crap am I happy
As for SPEEDSTAR, they rocked! They were very polite and professional the entire time; I would definately go back to Albert for any of my auto needs. Straight up the service rocked: They entire installation was done in a few hours, I forgot my locknut and he sent someone over to pick it up, and he even dropped off my car @ my house when I told him I couldn't come to pick it up (fyi its about a 35min drive to my house from the shop). Basically they were great guys and did a great job, I couldn't be happier.

Re: Finally installed my flywheel and fd!! (Hukd Up)
Do you mind telling us what the price for the installation? If it is cheap enough I might be interested to let somebody do it.
- Aaron, who had his fidanza FW and JDM FD sitting in his room collecting dust for over a year and still haven't feel like installing them by himself yet.

Unless you have $$$ - wait until your clutch is done before you do the FW and FD - that way you can kill two birds with one stone.
The FD job is a big one and shouldn't be done if you have no experience.

My thought exactly! That's why I don't feel like like swaping them now as I already waited a year.

I took some part time auto mechanic course in college and had torn a few transmission apart. But of course, those sample transmission is not as complicate (they are just 3 speeds I think), that's why I would like to know what is the installation price and try to make my decision from there!

I won't disclose how much I paid for Albert's sake, but it was a VERY REASONABLE price

Why? How does posting how much the install cost, detrimental to Albert?? If you are happy, which you seem to be, this is all that matters.... cost, unless totally off from other local installers, is a mute point....
I mean we can all just call him and find out how much he wants for the install then just post it....

My thought exactly. Given that I am a potential customer, I don't think Albert will mind. If you are really that worry to post it publicly, you can always IM me. I am a guy who can keep secret.

Re: Finally installed my flywheel and fd!! (AW)
Having done the Fd swap with DDub as a first timer, I can say that the job is very do able as a home swap.. at the very least you can drop the tranny yourself and do your own flywheel, but just take the trans to the shop for the FD. This is also a very good time to change out your motor mounts, especially the back one.

Are both of you guys are first timer with only helms? Did you guys did any major work on the car yourself before?
