Ever want to say **** it?
Ever just feel like saying expletive it and selling your car and buying a normal car and getting out of it all?
I do kind of.
Actually I'm thinking about trading for a 1000cc. I need one. I don't know why, but I just think it would help me out if I got rid of my car and got one.

Yes, but I'd always want one. There is no other car like it, especially your own, because we are so attached to them. I used to think "i'll sell it and get another one day", It would not be the same though.
#341 is the best R ever, and I'm sure everyone else thinks the same about their's.

Re: Ever want to say **** it? (itr341)
Been there, done that. Around a year ago I pulled all my parts off the itr (even swapped out the ATS FD, Flywheel, clutch, etc...) and was really close to selling the car. But for some reason (I think cost of a new car i wanted helped out) I didn't sell the car and I'm very happy I didn't. One thing I would suggest is to get a car that you don't work on so you can take your time fixing your other car. My biggest problem when I had one car was I could only do major work on the weekends and even then I was stressed because if I didn't get it fixed by Sunday night, I would be able to make it to work Monday. Yeah that's not an option for alot of people, but if you really want to make it happen you can.
I don't know your situation so it's really hard to make any suggestions. I say do what you feel is the right thing and will allow you to live a stress free life. You can always buy another car later

NevaR! It's crossed my mind, but every time I come home and see the R in the garage...I get that feeling all over again as if it's the first day I've owned it.

I say expletive it too, but I don't think anyone around here will buy my ITR.
I'm tired of dealing with ppl scratching or tampering with my ride. I need something more practical, like a WRX

Re: (ericlee303)
The second non-modified car is going to make you the happiest, and it doesn't have to be expensive. For example, an '87 VW Golf/Jetta can be found in good shape for as little as $1300, and probably cheaper if you looked hard enough. They're kind of fun, very reliable, and cheap to ensure. They're also super easy to work on if/when something does break. I went the more retarded route and got an '87 RX7, but the idea is the same. The harder part is resisting the urge to modify THAT car. Then you have two busted POS's.

Re: Ever want to say **** it? (RagingAngel)
I might have to sell my ITR to afford buying a new appartment now.
I really don`t want to, but i need a bigger place to live so i have no choice.
I think i`ll get a cheap trackready CRX or EG if i sell it, so i can continue racing though.
But i have a feeling i`ll buy my third ITR sometime later.

Are you talking about a litrebike?
I sometimes think about getting something more normal...until I realize that the most cost-effective thing I could do (besides taking the bus or getting a mountain bike) would be to keep the ITR.

Ha......cheap.....yea right.
I think about when things are running goofy on the car or I'm tired of vibrations and creaks. Then I see pics of Opie's car for sale and it really makes me want to sell my car. ........But I know I built mine and I know what is done to it and there is too much time/blood/sweat in this thing for me to part with it now.
BUT i started with an old car unlike you guys. I think owning an R would pointless for me b/c it wouldn't be completely different from what i have now.
I think if you sell you need to go in a whole different direction, like AWD or RWD. Anything remotely similar just doesn't compare and you WILL miss your car.

Re: Ever want to say **** it? (88 rex)
I recently picked up a beater, a 100 dollar 90 accord. Needed a motor, got one for 50 bucks. Today is the first day I drove it to work(60 miles), the R is relaxing in the heated garage waiting to get ragged out on the way to the Thanksgiving meet Saturday!!!

"Ever just feel like saying expletive it and selling your car and buying a normal car and getting out of it all?"
Yes. And that's exactly what I did. Now I have a decent (normal) car that has some torque, is pretty comfortable, takes regular gas, won't get stolen, kicks *** in the snow, and handles pretty well since I put new shocks and springs on it. Oh, and I own it outright, no carpayments rocks - makes it alot easier to afford the mortgage payments. But it's pretty boring and tame compared to the almighty R. And it doesn't carry as much stuff either...
Financially, I'm in a much better place because I sold the R - basically debt free (besides the house). But I do miss it, especially when the weather's nice. Oh well, guess I'm just getting old... I'll probably end up with another one at some point...

so true!!
I wanted to get away from the R because of theft issues, and it not being a good choice for a daily driver, was thinking of an s2k, but everytime I see my R i get watery eyed!
Last winter while my caR was in storage, I missed her so much I went and test drove some one else's type R that was for sale
