Default Distributor Rotor Notchy When Spun

Should the rotor spin freely? When I spin mine, it feels very notchy.

Thanks.

Pretty sure thats normal. I've never spun a distributor that felt smooth, not even new ones.

The distributor should feel kind of like an electric motor. There shouldn't be any noise (besides the bearings) because the magnetism is the resistant your feeling.
