Default CV Boot torn. New Axle? (Autozone?)

My CV boot is a goner, so I'm looking to replace the whole axle.

How many of you guys have Autozone axles? I've heard they're good (lifetime warranty) but they break a lot. Just wondering what your experiences are with them or if there are better alternatives. Thanks.

just changed my boot. $12.00 bucks. i would check the axle to see if you have lots of dirty.. if not just change the boot.. autozone was the only place around me that had the split type boot... comes with enough grease too.

Thanks for the link, Bbasso. raxles.com seems like a good place, but NAPA might be quicker.

cxSHOE - 95% of the people that have used the split type boot said that it gave out in a couple of months. I'd rather change out the axle and get it over with. Thanks for the input, though.

Cheap axles suck, get gator axles. Most upgraded companies will help you out if you break them.

Why not? That's what I would do. Or Gator Racing Axles.

Even though they're lifetime warranteed, others have had to changed them out constantly (i.e. every 1-3 months). That's not really worth it for me. I have heard good things about GCK's (which are brand new axles from Autozone). They're a little more expensive, but better quality than remanufactored ones. Also carries a lifetime warrantee. I'll pick some of these up Sat.

I would just buy the Autozone axles. I have seen them last a long time, but occasionally they go bad quickly, but thats usually on cars that are severely lowered and get launched a lot. Besides once you have done axles a few times its an easy job. I can usually swap both axles in 20 min or so. Plus you can't beat the lifetime warranty

I went through 3 axles from Advanced Auto in about 300 miles. They sucked. The only had the remans in my neck of the woods, not the new ones. I 'm running some used ITR axles now with no problems.

EVERY time i shift hard from 1-2 now, they blow apart the joints. at least they warranty them. Dont be a cheapass like me, get good ****.

Do yourself a favor -- stay far, far away from them.

Oxymoron?

My suggestion would be a new (not remanufactured) axle from Napa. Should run approx. $150.00, and comes with a lifetime warranty.
