Clunking during driving...
This came from nowhere...driving down the street, depress the clutch to downshift, and I hear a CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK coming from the front right wheel area, directly relative to wheel rotation. I let up on the clutch, the noise goes away. I stop in a parking lot and test it some more, and the noise still occurs, but only when the clutch is depressed and I am rolling.
Driving back to my place, the noise begins to occur randomly during driving in gear. It then becomes apparent during turns as well. It always occurs with the clutch depressed and through turns, and randomly knocks during driving.
My first thought is CV Joint/Boot, but why was it only occuring when the clutch was depressed at first? Is that a normal way for a CV Joint to gradually go?

Re: Clunking during driving... (newgsrdriver)
Just took it for a little test drive to doublecheck the symptoms. At first for a couple minutes, there was no clunking. It dissapeared. Sure enough, it came back, but only when the clutch is depressed again. It lightly knocks other times, but right as I push the clutch to shift or downshift, it CLUNKS loudly.
Im still on the stock clutch for now...throwout bearing possibly?

Re: Clunking during driving... (UNVMYR)
Well, heres a bit of info that may make you think otherwise:
OEM Clutch - 88k
Been running 6PSI on it for maybe 10k
No LSD - Its a GSR
Any ideas?

CV Boots look like theyre in perfect condition, so I doubt the joints went bad when the boots are in great shape.
Im still thinking TO Bearing due to the fact it happens EVERY time I depress the clutch without fail. Can anyone confirm or deny...any other ideas?

Re: Clunking during driving... (plugg)
The initial sound didnt, but now it does sound like metal rubbing. After another test drive, another squeaking sound, like a bad bearing, came about.
Could it be a bearing? It would have to be pretty much destroyed for it to clunk like that though. Now Im convinced it has to be something suspension related due to the squeaking that is in direct relation to wheel rotation, but I still dont understand how it was only occuring with the clutch in. Definitely coming from the front left...I can literally feel something banging under my left foot when the clutch is pushed in. You would think something was caught underneath or something, but that isnt the case.
