Old Type R teg vs New Type R teg
Im considering buying one of the new Type R's when they come out here in Australia next month. Would like to know though how they compare to the current model. Are there any back to back lap times etc available at the moment???? That would go some way to helping my decision.
If they arnt significantly better i was considering going with the current model. I need a car i can use at the track :D

From all current reports ... we are not getting a real Type-R either. From reliable sources, it looks more like the US Type-S, than a JDM Type-R.

Re: Old Type R teg vs New Type R teg (rlc)
I sent an email to honda asking them how can they badge it as a Type-R when it's a Type-S! Only good thing i heard is that it's got a LSD.. all the gear ratio is the same as the JDM but i think all the new 6 speeds have the same ratio, can someone double check that with the RS-X.
Fisty,
If you want a track car, stick with the DC2. At least it's almost the same as a JDM. And aftermarket stuff for it is easy to get.
I wonder where our so called "Type R" is constructed?!?

Ive seen the new JDM R on a couple occasions....sweeet machine...but I have a feeling that other than Mugen, you'll have a hard time finding good aftermaket parts. Turbo is almost impossible (there is no bumper clearance for the intercooler and the engine bay is pretty tight with the new 2 liter) If you don't mind all that then the 2 liter R is a great car!!

Drive it if you get the chance!!!!!!!! I'm waiting till next year and then I will make a Down payment on one of these cars buy that time I'll be able to see the track record or the New ITR and see about the aftermarket support .. which seems to be growing very fast over here in Japan for this car as I speak...

Re: Old Type R teg vs New Type R teg (JDM_DOHC_SiR)
Being a Honda owner for the last 10+ years, I have notced that Honda always make huge changes in a cars performance, and offers a lot more options during its 2nd year of production. Example: 88-89 CRX vs 90-91 CRX....interior is much more crisper and cleaner in the latter version. Slight difference in suspensions as well. ITR...96 spec vs 98 spec....no competition in styling, performance and options. I have a feeling that the New ITR won't be any different..PLUS..we should expect a CTR in the near future....its actually suppose to overtake the ITR in performance and be a lot more nimbler and faster than the New ITR...rumors rumors rumors...

Re: Old Type R teg vs New Type R teg (EuroITR1689)
The CTR is already here in Europe. It's much more civilised compared to the old ITR. It's got 200 HP and is 70 kg heavier than the old ITR.

Re: Old Type R teg vs New Type R teg (8400-RPM)
Just to throw my $.02 in, I personally don't really give a **** about whether or not the US gets a new type R. I'm gonna keep mine and keep modding mine. let the guy with the brand new one get hte attention, i'll still be having fun. Oh well, just wanted to rave

Hey guy's that live in Japan: is there an equivalent to the RSX type s in Japan?
I mean are there three models of Integra 160hp base 200hp (type s?) 220hp type R or just two?
