blown headgasket?
well i just got my type r head back from the machine shop for resurfacing and ready to mate to the type r block. well i let some idiot put the headgasket on and torque down the head bolts. i went on and finished the rest, but as soon as start up oil was gushing from the corner of the head and block by the thermostat.
Turns out he put the headgasket on the wrong way. So i remove the head cleaned everything up including the headgasket and reassembled it and fired it up but before the incident happened the motor was ran only for about 15 seconds.
So the engine runs great but theres always a little white smoke coming out of the exhaust. ive been driving since last night and today.
So could the headgasket be bad and need to be replaced and will i have to get my head resurfaced again?

Is it using coolant, or is the white smoke just steam? Worse case, you'll have to replace the gasket. I'm pretty sure we reused one on an 01 ITR before when someone was too drunk to notice they put it on backwards (we had leaking coolant and oil from it). IIRC we just flipped it and put it back together with no issues..
