Default Aircon almost removed!

Just spent the last 2 hours removing the aircon!!

I've managed to remove any trace of it from the engine bay including, pump, radiator, fan, something that goes next to the washer bottle and all the pipework right up to the join on the bulkhead behind the battary.

The only piece left in the engine bay is the aircon pump bracket that goes between the pump and the engine block. Can i remove it safely?

The reason I ask it cos it is connected to some kind of mount thats attached to the underside of the bodywork by the washer bottle.

Also any fuses I can pull to futher kill the system... i'm a bit worried about hitting the aircon buttom incase something shorts out.. (i've insulated the loom connector in the engine bay ).

Oh its alot cleaner looking now, less pipes to try and clean round!

you cannot remove the A/C bracket, because it's connected to the drivers side lower engine mount. lol

There is a lightweight version of that bracket though... i think it came specifically in some newer model CRV's here in usa (it's an aluminum bracket)

I thought the engine only had 3 mounts? one at each side and one at the back?

It is a vibration mount. If you follow it, it is mounted to the bottom of the frame.

KEEP IT IN.

Does it not get too hot there? It gets up over 100 F here and I'm always sweating like a pig. Sometimes, I wish my car came with A/C

I removed the AC this winter. What you need to do is order Acura part #79612-ST7-023 (14 in diagram below). It is a blank that will fill the A/C button location. It will stop people from pushing it on hot days and finishes of the AC removal nicely...

You're not done, you can pull out this thing too, its like a mini intercooler looking thing behind the dash.

There is also weight to be saved by removing the A/C parts under your dash behind the glove box. Replace with a simple heater duct. Acura Part# 79810-SR3-A01.

Heh, probably not. I just noticed this was a RHD. Silly me. But yeah the behind dash A/C raditator thing sits in a black box thats separate from the heat, and if you replace the black box it bassically turns it from a big heavy box with the metal raditor into a thinner tunnel connecting the fan motor, to the heater core, and the rest of the ducting.

Just incase there are any RHD people doing this mod, the part number for the switch cover is valid in the uk and the air duct is the same p/n but ends in 001 not A01 and fits a RHD teg..

2 on each side + 1 in the rear = 5.

To remove the AC button i just stuck on a piece of electric tape over the A/C light and no one even questions it.

The AC fan is on the drivers side correct and only is used for AC?

I have done this full removal also. Len was nice enough to help me do it in his driveway . I've had cars with A/C. Never used the systems. I figured since I'm a 5'8" skinny *** *****, I know I get cold easy enough....why do I need A/C? Rolling down the windows at speed is good enough for me.

Nice work!

Probably because he wanted one.

I find that's a common reason for owning an ITR.

I don't have a smart mouth, you simply asked a stupid question.

In case you forgot, you asked this:

Does that make any sense to you?
