205/50 15s on stock wheels - Any problems?
After weighing the options and the coin in my bank account, I'm looking to buy Bridgestone RE730s in 205/50 15.
Only problem is I saw an R at the dealership with those on, and they were noticeably wider than the stock tires and looked a bit big on the wheels. Has anyone had problems with that tire size on stock rims? Any more recommended tire for the stock rims for less than $100 apiece? I know about the falkens and kumhos, but anything else?

No problems. They fit fine.
[Edit] If you want to spend over $100, try Pirelli P-zero. Great tires. BTW, is it gonna be your daily driver? Then, stick w/ RE730... as it has good wet traction. [/Edit]

Thanks Cosworth. This is my daily driver - until I move somewhere that I can park more than 2 cars or get a devorce and free up a spot.

This is what I run, and I'm quite happy with them... Not quite as grippy or as sharp as RE010s in 195/55 15, but last a hellava lot longer. And hey... they're "Z" rated.
I imagine my next set will be S-03s... I've been very happy with Bridgestones.

I'll be getting a set of 205/50WR-15 Potenza S-03s for my Type R. I have heard nothing but high praise about them. The Tire Rack has them for $151 each.

205/50/15 - I got the Khumo Ecsta Supra 712's and was downright scared to drive them on the highway. They just seemed REALLY squirelly at high speeds and quick turns. I still have them and they seemed to shape up a little after a week, but then I resorted back to the RE10's (205/50/15). I love this tire and I got 23K from the first set and could have gotten another 5k if I hadn't missed a rotation. Maybe I'll keep the 712's when I get a 'daily' set of wheels to put them on. For now I'm daily and AutoX on the RE010's.
