[Help Needed] JDM ITR Exhaust Length Question
Hi, sorry for bringing this up again, I have read so many threads about this my ideas are all mixed and more confused than before.
My situation: 1997 B18C, type r engine with oem header. I ordered a type R oem replacement catalytic converter, I think it's for USDM type Rs, contacted the seller never got an reply, but nonetheless bought it for the price.
My Question: I want to put a magnaflow catback on it, but which one should I get? Magnaflow doesn't make catbacks for type R's yet I see videos of Rs with magnaflow exhausts all the time.
My understanding is that the 97-01 ITR and 00-01 GSR, 94-01 GS/LS have the same length while the 94-99 gsr is the only exception. If the JDM and USDM type Rs have the same length headers I guess I can just get a magnaflow system for the GS, but are they the same length?
About bottlenecks, some say the ITR header is 2.38'' some say it's 2.25'' some say it's 2.5'', I don't know which is right, could've just craw under the car and measure it with a set of calipers but god I'm lazy.
After my experience with Yonaka, I frankly just want a quiet exhaust, I kind of got an emotional shadow with loud exhausts and drones, I have to go home and get my other car if I'm giving my friends rides. This is why I'm putting back the catalytic converter. Magnaflow only makes 2.25'' pipes so if there will be bottlenecks, let there be bottlenecks.
So basically I have two questions:
1. JDM and USDM ITR headers, same length or no?
2. Which magnaflow catback do people get for a type R?

Same length
2. Which magnaflow catback do people get for a type R?
I never had one. But, I belived you need the one for the GSR because I had used an '00 GSR cat on my '97 R <---Not 100% sure on this one.

Re: [Help Needed] JDM ITR Exhaust Length Question
Thank you for the reply, I decided to get a catback for the 00-01 gsr and an universal catalytic converter since I realized the direct bolt-on ones are for usdm cars and thus have smaller collectors, they won't fit the JDM header anyways.
