Default XTD clutch reviews good or bad.

I'd like to hear from ppl who have actually had a xtd clutch installed on their car, ive been trying to research this but its alot of "I heard" and so on. so if u have used one and have a good or bad review please post or if u know someone well who has tried one, what was there experience. I'm specifically looking at their 6 puck sprung stage 4 clutch. which they say is good for 315 ft/lbs. my clutch is in need of replacing and i was thinking of trying it out. price is a factor for me.

search the forum. mostly bad reviews. you can kind of rig it by using the $150 act 6 puc with a generic whatever you have laying around pressure plate if cost is a factor

how much torque does the car make?

i only ask since there is no way you need a puc clutch unless the car is boosted

i am boosted and going for more, clutch was starting to slip before i put it away for the winter, im only making 250 torque but the stage 4 says its good for 315 which is somewhere around where i want to be. i have a whole bunch of parts waiting to go on and im gonna pull my car out sometime in the next 30 or 40 days so i want to order a clutch. i did search the forum but it seems like ppl just saying what theyve "heard" so i wanted to get some first hand opinions, ill prolly give it a shot cuz u cant beat the price and if i nuke it well lesson learned, just lookin for some input is all.

i used the 6 puc ceramic xtd clutch in my corvette. not bad but the biggest issue i had was that it was extremely grabby...shocker right? and that the transmission always would grind second gear. not sure if clearances were off or what but i sold the car a month later.

I had an unsprung 6 puck on a stock ls for 1.5 years and then a year boosted at around 300whp, never slipped or had any issues.

Also had a sprung 6 puck on a stock d16y7 for a few months, then an unsprung 6 puck on a d16y8 for about a year.

I had springs pop out of exedy disks about once every year for 3 years but never had an issue with the ebay crap.

Had a XTD stage 3 clutch, popped a spring in less than 2 months. POS garbage. Get a good name brand clutch or don't buy one at all.
