TURBO DC2

Ok here we go, please read H-T. I am absolutely lost.


Car cuts off (does NOT bog out, just cuts off as if you cut all power to the motor) out of nowhere and then won't be able to turn on the car right away after about 5 minutes. At first I thought it was main relay since these are the symptoms, but when I turn the key to power, you can hear the main relay click and the fuel pump prime (can't be the pump), but then the car doesn’t start. Starter clicks and motor fires. I swapped in another GSR main relay. That didn’t fix the problem either and replaced all fuses

So not sure what do from here. Car cranks but just sounds like there is no gas or the ECU fuse is gone. I’m thinking it’s something to do with wiring but not sure what it could be. Could it be a weak contact in my ignition switch? Wiring to my turbo timer?

It’ll start out of nowhere then cut off in the middle of the road. Won’t start until I give it some time, then it may start again after 5-15 mins as if nothing happened and it will die again and not be able to start the car right away until I wait a bit.


Setup:
- 94 DC2 USDM GSR Turbo, 195K
- p28 uberdata chipped/tuned,
- quarter tank of gas, stock gsr fuel pump, dsm 450 injectors
- gapped ngk bkr’s spark plugs, stock spark plug wires.
- all fuses are good

The teggy has been out of commission for the past 3 weeks due to this. Help a brother out

Have you checked for spark? Could possibly an ignitor or coil problem.

id say 99% sure ur problem lies in the distributer u can either take it apart and see whats up or just spend a couple bills and get a new one id try out a friends dzzy.

I had the same exact problem as you did on my DC2. First you can check your distributor coil, around my area those are the first to go out. secondly you can check for your ignition relay. i had the same symptoms on my ride just like how you described it. well check it out and let me know if it works for you.
