Will a Skunk2 IM give the same or more HP increase as a CAI? or will an exhaust give more overall HP then a IM?

it depends on the car but majority of the time intake are the best single bolt on that will add hp. Exhaust and intake mani are not too goood of hp by themselves but when you have lots of mods, especially cams the skunk2 IM greatly enhance the power.

CAI is pretty much the first mod youll do. Skunk2 Manifold is NOT a good first mod. At all.

Get i/h/e/cat and cams first...probably even ECU imo.

You just dont want to run a Skunk2 IM with stock cams and stock dual stage ecu on a GSR.

IMport tuner said cai gave the gsr around 12 horses, not sure it its true though.

Don't bet your life on it. The ragazines are chockfull of hype. The only reason to get it is for the eye candy.

It doesn't work like that... what you need to do is figure out what your goal is for the car, then plot a course to attain it. With exhaust and intake your not adding power like you would be with forced induction. You are simply optimizing your current engine to more efficiently produce power that it's already capable of.

Intake/Exhaust needs to be a well thought out system not just random bolt-ons.

Just my 2cents.

exactly, half the people on this board have shitty engine setups because they buy random bolt-ons. How many people here have a 2.5" collector and a 60mm exhaust, with the stock cat
