Why do my lights dim?
i searched the site and found nothin to help me. I got a 99LS 5spd. Every time i use a power accesory on my car w/ the light on, they all dim badly. Like if i have my headlights on and use my window, my dome lights and headlight dim until i let go of the window switch. What the problem here? or is it normal? its kinda annoying. Any help appreciated, thanx guys

umm, no people this is NOT normal behavior. I have a regular Sears battery and my car does not act this way at all. I can have my stereo on, bass hitting, rolling windows up and down and moving the sunroof, and HID headlights on while sitting idling, and I do not notice anything dimming or otherwise out of the ordinary.
Things dimming like that usually indicate a problem with the alternator.

the battery has nothing to do with it. when the car is running the car is powered by the alternator. Unless the voltage drops down to around 12.5 volts but by then the lights will defiantly be dimmer. for those that don't have the dimming with the lights on at idle and closing the windows, do the headlights dim when you shut the car off? you may have alternator problems.

now that you guys bring this topic up. My power acc. dims too! When i shut the car off, my headlights dont dim, they stay bright as hell, then again i have HIDs, does that matter?
Now i want to fix my power loss!!!!!!!!!!! DAMIT! so is it the alternator or something else?

Your head lights will dim a little when you turn off your car b/c it is going from 13+ from the alt to 12.5+ of the battery.
You will want to check the output of your alt while it is running to see if there is a problem. Should be over 13, and no more than 14.5.
Also, your alt makes the most power at 2k RMPS. No need to rev the **** out of your car
