is it your transmission making the noise? Are you sure its your alt belt?

OOooo I have the same problem. I just noticed it last night drivin on the freeway. If I gun it at 65mph the noise starts to pick up and stays there unless u go 65 or lower. Iono what's wrong with it. It hasn't done that before. I only noticed it after my clutch was installed. I'm also curious as to what the culprit is.

Check your timing belt. Did you have it changed recently? Is it due to be changed?

Does it go away when you press the clutch? That'll help us troubleshoot.

is it auto? my brothers ls did that right before the transmission valves went out. you might want to get it checked out. if its not auto then i dont know what to tell you i dont want to lead you in the wrong direction

maybe it could be the waterpump? i get the whine too, and gonna replace my timing belt water pump and [maybe] alternator as well. i'm familiar with the fact that when waterpumps are about to go out they make a bit of whiney sound, this happened after yanked the motor outto do the clutch replacement.

i was thinking maybe the waterpump also..i have a99 integra gsr..72k..but the dealer recommends it changed at 90..i have a ways to go..it happens in every gear..it all depends on if you concentrate hard enough to hear it..its more noticeable the longer you drive..
