burning oil b18c
Hello everyone thanks for taking the time read my post.
I recently swapped a b18c gsr into my 93 delsol.
The motor has great power but when vtec engages it smokes a
massive amout of oil.
I figure its oil any how because i add just about a quart weekly.
Is it a big possibility the valve seals are shot?

Re: burning oil b18c
All kinds of smoke will happen under full throttle. It's not uncommon for B18C's to burn oil.
Start with a compression/leakdown test.
Check the PCV valve.
What type of oil do you use?

Re: burning oil b18c
hey guys so i have this issue with my delsol.
i swapped a b18c gsr in it and it sounds like a health motor strong and pulls hard
but my issue is wen vtec crosses around 58k cuz i have a itr ecu
it smokes and then around 7k it smokes heavy oil.
i no its oil cuz i have good gas milage but if i hit vtec several times a week i
can easily go throo a qt of oil.
i had some one follow me and any rpm under 58k soft or full throttle theres no smoke but vtec is another story.

Maybe your cylinder walls or rings are a bit messed up. Normal driving when everything is cool, vtec kick in, and oil passes though.

Re: burning oil b18c
replace the valve seals you can do this with the head still on! theres a new special tool for honda heads that make replacing valve seals easy. Its worth a try..
