WHAT SHOULD I DO ?
okay my car is leaking oil , and it burns outta my exhaust , its not a blown headgasket i know that already ...
its the seals n stuffs.......
i have a LS / Vtec and the HEAD is a b17 , i have a 95 b18c1 head at home but i wanna know what would be easier for my friend.......
to jus rebuild the b17 head or slap the b18c1 head on ( i know the motor will be better w/ the b18 head but im not looking for power now becuase hawaii cops r cracking down big time on street racers...so im jus looking for the easier way....
-would the cam gears and distributor from the b17 fit on the b18c1? cuz thats whats missing from the b18c1 is the cam gears n dizzy....thanks for looking ...

just put the b18c head on....in either case you have to pull off the cylinder head and put it back on....but there's more downtime with rebuilding the b17 head....you could swap out the b17 head for the b18 in 1 days whereas a removal, rebuild, and replace on the b17 will take significantly longer

b17 head is no better than a b16. it's the same head actually.

Re: (that one doood)
It could be valve seals, or piston rings. Did you do a compression and leakdown test yet? Replace with the b18c head, it will be much easier. Cam gears should work, dizzy might not. Look at them and see if it will line up.
