(DA) CV Joints went out, mechanic said i need to replace FLCA's
So here's the situation. When I was replacing my starter on the DA I noticed my passenger side CV boot was ripped. Obviously the joint is now shot since the grease has leaked out.
After I was done dropping her a bit for the upcoming summer, I took it out for a drive. I was driving normally, responsibly, etc. I started hearing a NASTY and LOUD clicking coming from the driver side, assumed to be the driver side CV joint. It clicks no matter how fast you are going, which way you are turning, forward or reverse. The only exception is when I brake and when I accelerate.
Apparently when the mechanic checked it out he said he couldn't replace the halfshafts until he replaced the front lower control arms...he said the bushings were shot and couldn't ONLY replace those, but can't you simply replace the bushings and not the entire FLCA? I think it's a bunch of bullshit, but if it's true then I might as well replace it with something lighter, more durable, and cheaper, seeming as they quoted me an extra 500 to replace both.
Also, does anyone know if any companies out there make FLCA's for a DA? I haven't been able to find any.

All of the bushings on the front lower arms can be replaced. Here are the parts for a 93 GS.

Thanks Dogginator, I actually had that EXACT same page up when I checked this thread, haha.
The car is semi-tucking so it's fairly low. I know it has that effect on the axles, but it's been low for years and they've held up.
I appreciate the replies, guys
