Water Induced Vibration
I get an occasional but substantial vibration after the right wheel goes through a puddle or in very, very heavy rain. Here are the details.
The Car
1994 Integra GSR 4DR
The Scenario
Above 40 mph in 5th gear a substantial vibration occurs after the right front wheel goes through a puddle or, in the instance of heavy rain, a pretty constant vibration. The frequency of the vibration seems to be motor-RPM. It slows down when the car slows down. Usually, it disappears at 20-25 mph.
If I disengage the clutch and gas the motor while it's still vibrating, the frequency increases with the motor RPM.
Once it disappears, it may or may not come back later when the right tire goes through another puddle. If it's constent very heavy rain, I must go slow or it will eventually return.
I think, but have not yet confirmed, that the lower the gear engaged when it manifests itself, the lower the speed (mph) is that induces it.
I do not have any lubricant coming from any seals that I can see. Because it persists at the motor-RPM frequency, I've excluded the drive shaft assembly, differential and transmission but not the pressure plate, clutch disc, flywheel or any bearings related to them.

Re: Water Induced Vibration (LaterApex)
I have both the same car and water-induced vibration that you have. It is definitely related to engine rpm. It only occurs during heavy rain in my situation. I can't exactly pinpoint where the vibration is coming from, but it annoys the hell out of me. I originally thought it was coming from the passenger door/side skirt area, but when I have my girlfriend in the car she says it is coming from the middle(underneath) of the car. I have no clue as to how to figure this out. I really dont understand why it only occurs in the rain.....SOMEBODY HELP US OUT!

Thanks,
I put in new cap, rotor, coil, wires and plugs about 10,000 miles ago. But, I'll check it.

Re: Water Induced Vibration (thegrayghost)
I hope that in finding someone else that has the same problem your confidence in your sanity has risen as much as has mine.
BTW, I think that mine is front-middle.
Look, now that there is evidence that it's not entirely unique, I'm going to as a very expert friend to look at this thread and give me his opinion. If it results in a cure, I'll post it here in detail.
I knew that I had good herd instincts!

Re: Water Induced Vibration (thegrayghost)
Will advise.
I've sent the information off to him but, unusually, have not heard back. I'll wait until Monday to follow up with him. He may be on a business trip or vacation.
I'm going to take Friday off, run the car until it's fully warmed up, put it up onto a lift with a driver to rev the motor for me and spray water up at it to try to induce the vibration.
