Do not over look this job!!!
90K max on first change. List of things to change as well..
Water pump & o-ring
timing belt tensioner & spring
replace all antifreeze with *ONLY* either; HONDA (blue-green), Toyota (Red) or
prestone long life phosphate free (Orange) antifreeze.
older (green) antifreeze was designed for detroit iron, not honda, toyota or nissan.
it *WILL* corrode the metals inside your engine as well as shrink the seals on the water pump. your engine will die a horrible death...
If your oil pan gasket is leaking, might as well change;
oil pan gasket
oil pump seals & gasket
pickup tube gasket & o-ring
If you have your own garage & tools, this is an easy job.
I waited til 97k and made it a difficult job + extra $$ for tow home.
Had to pull the head off & check 4 damage. I got lucky...
get a coupon in the mail and take it to the Acura dealer if you dont do it yourself.
$100 off timing belt maint... (i think the acura service interval includes timing belt + water pump)
cheap mechanics will only change the belt.
dumb mechanics wont install it properly or tension the belt.
Use OEM belt & waterpump. maybe sub belt if your parts dealer can get either nissin or gates belt.
do not sub the pump with non oem...
