is swapping out my motor worth it?
i was thinking about swapping my ls (b18b1) for a h22a.
i know it would be somewhat a littlw faster and more torqey, but is it worth the swap?cuzz im getting the swap for about 1200$ everything
im thinking on a stock h22a in my integra would get me about low 14's high 13's mayb?
any comment would be nice.

well my motor (b18b1)
has about 94k on it, but it is HIGH Maintnece because i used to turboed my car for like 7 months on 7 pounds. now its back to stock and causing me trouble all over.
but the prelude has about 90k on it, and the head has been rebuilt. so its like a brand new head.

Re: (Vinhtran17)
low to mid 14's is prolly correct. but im not a fan of cable shifters, and 7k redlines. strap a gsr head on your motor with the money you have. but save a little more to get the rod bolts, gsr oil pump and block gaurd.

Re: (DarkblueInteg)
Probably because he didn't build it right when he was boosting and now the engine is fcuked.
Whatever you do, don't offload that LS engine onto some poor sap without telling them about its issues. That would be immoral, give you bad karma, and we would hate you.

i wouldnt do that if his engine is already fucked.... if you want a good swap look into a K20.... some people who were really serious about the swap and did their homework get some good prices on the motors

Yea I'd say LS/VTEC would be a good idea, or even go back to the Ls turbo, up to you though, the h22 is a nice torqey motor.

but how reliable is an LS/VTEC motor swap I'd consider it but I dont want to have alot of problems like overheating and such if i could have the power of an LS/Vtec and reliability of a Type R id go that route.

Yes i would love to turbo my car once again, its just the instant power and torque. but once againg im scared now to go back to turbo, cuzz of my last turbo setup, it might have fucked up my motor. but the thing is, i had ran about 14.5 1/4 mile with a turbo on a stock motor running 7 pounds of boost. now a h22a stock motor with no turbo would do about ( like anbout high 13's, low to mid 14.s)
which is in case better then my last turbo setup, and i know that its only stock and would be reliable and great gas cuzz its stock.
i know that ls/vtec is another great way, but im not into the ls/vtec. just beacuse i heard alot of problems about it.

As long as its put together right, you shouldn't have any issues. You have to know the limits of the motor, I mean, if you just slap it together and expect to be able to constantly rev to 8 grand with the stock ls bottom end, its just not going to last. But if the motor is put together properly, and you know the limits of your setup, then you should be just fine.

big engine + little car = sucky handling and axles breaking
its not worth putting an h22 in an integra cause ur axles r gonna break and ur handling is horrible on it. have a friend that did it. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. just get a gsr or type r engine. thumbs down to ls/vtec ls/vtec sux and people r wasting gsr engines.

i dont think that my car is little its just 350pounds lighter then the prelude ( at least its not a hatch. . i know that it would make my handling suck alittle bit. and i think that the "prelude axles" can handle up to a preulde motor (since i do need to change over my drivetrain.). but yeah thanks for the comment though.

why does ls/vtec suck because us guys that have them smoke the **** out of you , im sorry man , ls/vtec don't suck i spent about the same only if i would of done a type-r swap , and i make way more power to the wheels then h22 or type-r for that ..... so just respect the work even if you don't like it , o and i did wast a GSR i wasted a type-R , lol wast

ok so why not buy some racing axles for a couple hundred bucks. an H22 is a very potent motor, if installed correctly. sure it weighs a bit more than a GSR motor, but the lower costs make up for it, torque is fun.
