steerin wheel shaking
got it out of the shop with new rotors and pads put in and new axles. the steering wheel starts shaking at freeway speeds around 60+ . you can feel a little shaking in the steering wheel at lower speeds but not nearly as bad as 60+ mph. new rims and new tires, balanced and just got aligments done. spening alot of money trying to fix it, what else could it be?
thx for all the help

Re: steerin wheel shaking (CarFreek)
dude its ur hubs my gsr teg shook around 60-80 mph and my bro said it might be my tires then one day i lifted my car and checked to see if my hubs were ok and they moved around, had lots of play so thats why it shook, so im 99.99% sure its ur 2 front hubs or 1 check both sides for hub play, just put ur hand on top of wheel and move back and forth to see if theres any wheel play, car has to be jacked up for this, a good hub shud not have any play, i changed mine and doesnt shake anymore

You mean ball-joints?
If not more detail would be nice.

its the hubs, if you take out the disc you will see the hub i dont no if its called ball joint, it might be but im sure its the front hubs causing the shaking wait it might be called wheel bearing ya i think so if anyone knows for sure do fill in but sounds like wheel bearing

Re: steerin wheel shaking (messy hatch)
i never changed the hub bearing i had extra gsr suspension laying around so i switched the whole arm, disc, hub assembly so it was easy for me but if you dont have extra parts you need the hub bearing and i think you need to get it pressed out and new one pressed in

now try to see if rotor or wheel has some play by moving the disc back and forth, if you have some play you need new bearing ,the thing i circled in red

could be your new axles dont have that rubber balancer thing in the middle of the axles.I once changed my axles and it didnt have the balancer and it vibrated like crazy at 27mph and 65mph...changed it for the ones with the rubber balancer thing and they worked like a charm

Re: (808jdm_profileEG6)
The vibration could also be an inboard CV joint, or a loose motor mount.
A bad inboard CV joint will cause shuddering under load (accelerating), but will stop immediately if you let off the gas. Drive at 65mph, tip into the throttle and observe if the shuddering increases and then goes away when you take your foot completely off the throttle.

Re: steerin wheel shaking (DOHCgarage919)
Thank you for clearing that up.

That would be called the up-right.
The ball-joints are the things that connect the up-right to the upper and lower control arm.
P.S. That pic, did you take it? If so, What kind of brakes are on that up-right??
