I'll take a stab in the dark....a very abyssal, pitch-black dark. Do a tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor), fuel filter, air filter, O2 sensor (if CEL is on), and maybe fill up your tires to a correct pressure.

No kidding, when I first bought my car, I was spending $16 to fill it up, just filled up this morning with $52
But to the OP, get a tune up done, make sure tire pressure is correct, make sure all your plastic wheel/fender guards and the air dam thing under the radiator is installed. And maybe get a new O2 sensor.

Lately i've been driving more grandma like, not racing all over the place, hitting vtec every 3 lights, never going over 4k and i've seen a huge difference, when I used to be on empty now i've still got 1/4+ tank left. (06 civic si)

USD?!?!?! That's ~$11 US/gallon. Even if that $4/liter is in NLG, that is still about $8 US/gallon. You all need to smuggle some gasoline from the land of President Chávez.
What car do you have?

Damn brother, I am hurting just reading that.
Gut the car, make it as light as possible, if you can lose 100-200 lbs, that should get you at least 1 mpg more.
