Default sorry guys another question about dizzy?

ok after i got the dizzy cap off and then there is the rotor button. The screw was not visible so i unplugged the connectors at the top of the dizzy and tapped the key to turn the button. Did this about three times then i could see the screw well the screw looked a lil stripped so i just said forget it i will mess with it when i have more time and better tools. so i put the dizzy cap back on and reconnected the connectors but someone told me that i could have messed up the timing and i could bend valves. I dont see how this is true that i could have messed up the timing because the button is in the same position? please help verify this for me

If you didn't take the entire distributor off from the head, then there was no way to mess up the timing. If you just took the cap off, couldn't get the rotor off, and gave up, you are fine. Now, when do try to get that stripped screw off, you may have to take the entire dist. off, then you need to worry about placement and messing up timing, so you will need to mark the location of everything or rent/buy a timing light.
