after i installed the test pipe thats when the smoke appeared and im not burning oil because my oil level is at same level since i changed it. what color smoke usually tells when your running rich? can someone explain the colors running rich and burning oil please.

Re: (dc2rtek)
look at your spark plugs
black=rich
white=lean
bronze/brownish=stoich
oil on the plug= burning oil
you are probably burning a tiny bit oil at high rpms and the cat is not there to burn off the smoke, this is normal, if you lose less that a quart between oil changes that is the standard amout vtec engines burn, Acura wont reccomend service for your car if it is burning that much or less

there is too much fuel entering the combustion chamber and being burnt
running righ burns out cats, o2 sensors, and can wash out clyinder walls along with causing other misc internal problems

Re: running rich? (dc2rtek)
My teg was smoking when i had a test pipe on as well. It also has a secondary o2 sensor that was left unhooked when the test pipe was put on. I got a carsound cat on it now and the o2 sensor is hooked back up again and no more smoke.
