Default Rotating Falken Azenis?

I only use the Falken Azenis for autocross, so most of the wear is on the outside of the tire. Can I flip them and mount the outside, so that they are on the inside now?

I'm pretty certain you shouldn't do that...but I guess I can't say so for certain.

no, they are designed to only have 1 side on the outside and thats the "OUTSIDE" they are not directional.

black-ls is correct, you cannot flip them and use on the other side of the car...they can only be swapped from front to rear on the same side or vice-versa.

The only rotating I would do is moving the front tires to the rear, and the rear tires to the front. Mounting the backwards isn't recommended, and from what I've gathered, the manufacturer strongly discourages it.

I thought the directionality was just for wet weather. If you're just using them for autox would it be bad to flip them? The grooves would be backwards... but as long as there's no water on the road... would it really make a diference? Or are there other things about the tire that make them directional?

azenis are NOT directional, they just have to be mounted on the wheel properly (ie. inside and outside)
so you can rotate them like anyother non directional tire.

I did not mean to imply that they are directional tires, I meant to point out that it is not recommended by the manufacturer to mount them backwards (the inside to the outside, and the outside to the inside) on the rim. Sorry for any confusion.

i was more replying to nolex7 in the fact that you can rotate azenis from left to right.
the proper rotation for a fwd is the fronts go straight back, and the backs criss cross sides. this can be done on azenis

you're right el_jefe, i took another look and they can be criss-crossed..dont know why i was under the impression they were directional tires.

They are not my street tires, I only use them for autocross.

What are the implications of flipping them?

If you mount the insides of the tires toward the outside, that puts the smaller tread blocks towards the outside, and will probably worsen at-the-limit handling and grip. I would probably just rotate them both front to back and side to side (pretty much an X pattern). I'm thinking your front tires probably take more abuse during autox (especially if you understeer as your name implies j/k ), so if you switch sides of the car, and also move the back tires up front, you might see a little more tire life.
