reset ecu when installing new o2 sensor

Re: reset ecu when installing new o2 sensor (nickzed20)
The answer probably depends on what year car? I think the ECU 'learns' the behavior of the new sensor. By resetting, this happens a little bit faster, maybe a little bit better. You don't absolutely 'need' to reset.

well if ur orignal O2 sensor went bad cause n the CEL to come on, then u need to reset the ecu. pull the 7.5 "back up" fuse from the fuse box in the engine bay for about 15 seconds. then install it again.
if the light did not come on then u dont need to reset it
