Replacing lower balljoint (won't come out, stuck now)
I got the upper control arm and tie rod out.
I can't get the castle nut off the lower balljoint. It just keeps spinning the balljoint when i turn it. Yes I already took out the cotter pin.
Any ideas on how to get it out?

Re: Replacing lower balljoint (djSALIX)
actually if the ball joint is spinning too then i would hook up the upper control arm and tie rod. If you take off the castle nut first it shouldnt spin? hmm nto sure, never spun on me. + try some good oil penatrator

use a impact if you have access to one.
Some times you can jam the pickle fork in there to put tesion on it. That might help to get it off.

You can try pushing down on the rotor while you unscrew the castle nut. Doing that will press the balljoint tight up against the lca which may prevent it from spinning.

ok heres the deal. put the upper controlarm/balljoint back in and tighten snug.
get a jack and jack the lower control arm where the strut fork is.(all the way till it stops, and then some). then you take an impact or a ratchet and take it off.
should come off.

Re: Replacing lower balljoint (Das Schmoo)
Yeah, use that method. Here is IN VTEC's video that shows how to do it.
