removed all fuses, 70 amp fuse still popping
I was having a little fun when shifting hard into second gear. My dash and all my electrical lights went out. So I check it out, my 70 amp battery fuse is blown, removed all the fuses and connected the battery and still popped my battery fuse. It's a short to ground right, what area do you think I should be looking for. Can making a fuse buddy help in this situation? just asking

Definitely a short to ground.
Fuse "buddy"???
Disconnect the alt. lead at the fuse box and see if the short is still there, could be a shorted voltage regulator. 94

will do,
also, a fuse buddy is a amp meter connected in series with a fuse size connection. so you can put the fuse in the under hood fuse box and see amperage draw. fuse buddy

LOL, you learn something new every day, I have been doing auto electrical for over 30 years and have never heard of a fuse buddy, we call our machine, [home made] "the safe load box", it wires in place of the fuse so current can pass without overloading shorted circuit(s) so wiring does not burn, making it easier to find shorts. 94

Re: removed all fuses, 70 amp fuse still popping
that's the way to do it, I'm in heavy equipment maintenance, and we deal with 24v systems. So I fixed a broken clutch interlock switch wires, and unplugged the alternator. Put all my fuses in and connected the battery, no popping 80amp battery fuse. Disconnected the battery, reconnected the alternator and plugged in the battery one last time. The 80 amp battery fuse popped, I am ordering a manufactured alternator, will be here by Monday. thanx for your help
