Default Rebuild

well today i changed the spark plugs & wires, and in cyl. 4 oil was on the plug...My friend was telling me that it could be the piston rings or some gasket that is in the vavlve cover for the spark plugs( i wasnt listening)...so what you guys think?

Now if it is the piston rings, how much would it cost to buy new rings and same gsr pistons? and labor to put them in? So if i rebuild, i plan to do the water pump...should i do the valves and other head stuff too?

Change out your spark plug gaskets at while your at it change out your valve cover gasket also. I highly recommend going with OEM honda parts.

you think it could be only the spark plug gasket? i hope that is what it is rather than piston rings...

Take one step at a time if it doesn't fix it, then look into other possible causes.

its for sure the plug tube gaskets, piston rings would cause oil burning but not push past the plugs.

ya just the spark plug seal. get a valve cover gasket and spark plug seals and you are fine.

same problem on mine.. pulled the plug out one day.. covered in oil. thought it was the rings. then i took my valve cover off, and i notice the spark plug seal was the culprit.

no problems since.
