READ THIS AND HELP LOWER GAS PRICES!!!!!
Some one gave me this i think it is a great idea and it can work, anyone who see's this help us out in this fight leave me a message and tell me what u think.
MAKE Gas prices go down
We are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer.Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea:
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
Please read it and join with us!
By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is
super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my town.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
marketplace.... not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!
And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL( This includes BP). If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon
and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp (sic) out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it
to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends
each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON"T purchase ANY gasoline , food, ciggarettes, or use the pay phones from EXXON and MOBIL just use their bathrooms not only will they need to lower the price of their gas they wont be able to raise the prices on other items to compensate. That's all.
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to
ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.
PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO A REASONABLE RANGE AND
KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK
Please Post this on your cardomain page so as many people as possible can see it!!

The reason why it never works is because people never take action, they just read it and say this will never work. It will work to a point tho because there are many gas stations that buy their gas from exxon mobil, exxon mobil is one company, like the gas company i work for. So if people DO stop buying there gas at exxon & mobil stations they will still continue to sell there gasoline to the small gas companies that cant drill and refine there own oil. So the only real thing that we can do is stop using some much gas. Which is hard to do for people that love driving like myself .

Like he said. Wal-mart uses BP (Amoco) fuel. besides Chevron and BP are the only two places I will fuel up at. In my opinion all the other companys fuel isnt as clean. It's a good idea, but it wouldn't work.
What we need to do is stop driving these big *** V8's that we dont need. Dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with owning/driving you V8. But do people without 4+ kids need a huge Denali or Suburban? No. Does anybody besides military need Hummers? I dont think so. What about duallies? Unless you have a farm or pull a big *** trailer, you really dont need that either.
But these people are not going to get rid of these vehicles because they like them, just like we like our Honda's or whatever you drive.
The vehicle manufacturers need to start producing cars that get better gas mileage. This 12-14 MPG isnt going to cut it. Gas his $2.99 here today for 93 octane. So now I am paying $33.00 to fill up every 2 1/2 days and I get 30MPG. I am now trying to find a new job closer than 50 miles away because of this.
IMO there is really nothing we can do unless we all go buy a huffy and ride that way. Gas is going to continue to go up no matter what we do. Even if we all stop driving in the hopes that gas will go down, Trucks still have transpot goods, police still have to patrol, fire trucks and ambulance's still need to respond to emergency's. We are pretty much fucked with this problem but it is a good idea. I just dont see this working.

Re: (SlammedDC2)
Okay so let me get this right you want people to stop buying gas, so the companies wont profit, so you think they will lower there gas prices so they profit even less? If anything they will hire them because no matter what people are gonna buy there gas and they are going to be selling it....

I'm sorry everyone.....my most deepest and sincere of all apologies. My roommates hogged up the bathroom this morning and I had to go. Sci_v_icI's bowl of cornflakes was awfully inviting....so I had to relieve myself in it.
