So my valve cover was replaced by an uncle while I was out of town but I'm beginning to think he used the wrong gasket sealer, I've read that its supposed to be either red or black and only on the corners by the cam seals but from what I can see he used a gray one and all around instead of those four corners. Should I replace the gasket?

I use the grey and only in the spots shown in the manual, not on the whole gasket

for the most part sealer is not recommend on the valve cover gasket despite what the fsm may say, at least most threads tend to take a bias to "no". if it's not leaking just leave it.

No it's not at least not that I can see. I've only driven her twice since it's still getting prepped for smog and all that. Thanks guys.
