Re: Project 'Make Gagnar's Car Nice Again:' My Build Thread
Find out where the oil leak is from. If the drivers wheel got hit, I would be worried about the axle, mid shaft, and tranny. Have you driven the car? any case give yourself a few days before making any decisions, if you don't think it looks to bad 4,000 can go a long ways on new parts. GL

Well the time has come and I've decided definitely to part out the Integra. The thought of welding a new frame on was not very appealing, and it would have taken all that I had to get it fixed and the car still would've needed a new paint job and been left with a dirty title.
Instead I've decided to part the car out. I may use the money to buy a new car, but I haven't decided for sure yet.
I'll be posting a link in the Marketplace soon, but if any of you are interested in snagging some parts from a very clean 96 GS-R, give me a pm.
Some of the things I expect to sell quickly:
Neptune socketed ECU -- KEEPING IT
Virgin OBD2A p72 ECU -- STILL AVAILABLE
Progress Comp II Coilovers with < 1k miles -- KEEPING IT
OEM control arms with PIC bushings < 1k miles -- KEEPING IT
Blox A cams -- KEEPING IT
ITR sway bar like new -- KEEPING IT
145k B18C1 with excellent compression consistency -- BLOCK MAYBE FOR SALE
15" Konig Feathers with like new s.drives -- KEEPING IT
Now would also be a good time to stock up on spares! -- LOTS OF SPARES SILL AVAILABLE
RIP Integra you will be missed

NEVERMIND! Gagnar is back in BIZNASSS
I just picked up a 2-owner, clean-title adriatic blue pearl LS. Miles are a little high and the paint is showing it's age but the body is pristine and the car came with full service records and the color is so purdy. The car also seems to have been properly cared for.
I'll post pics soon.
So excited about this build!!!

Boo. Na just playing. Glad you get to continue. I could only imagine my car getting totaled after all the time a dedication put into it. What ya doing with those ecu?

Yeah, sorry bro. I feel bad for leading you on . Still pumped about the new car tho. Too bad it's not a GS-R.
I think I can still sell the p72 (OBD2a, sorry I forgot to mention). I think I will need a 98+ ECU in order to pass emissions in NV. I will have to check on that soon. I'm also not sure whether I should do a full swap or do an LS-V...

Its all good!!! I am just getting my ITR recaros sooner than expected! Also trying to pick up a 92 stock integra GSR so my wife would probably kill me if I would have bought it all in one month!!!
NVM on ecu, I have been trying to sell my p72 obd2a ecu.

I'm not sure whether I should even sell the ECU. I *think* the 96 ECU will work for Nevada OBD testing in a 98 LS, since they are both OBD2a.
I need to figure out whether a swap is going to be possible here. I miss MT where you can do anything you want.

I would imagine you would run rich if you ran the gsr ecu on the ls motor but I am also better at turning wrenches than I am with electrical and ecus. I couldn't see you having a issue swapping a gsr into another integra chassis. Hell Cali is the worst and it is legal.

Well Federally, it is illegal in all 50 states. But with both being OBD2A, I doubt they would know the difference without you telling them. If anything I would call DMV and pretend not to know the GSR's year but you know both are OBD2A and see what they say. I have never lived in a state that has inspections so I have no experience with how in-depth they get.
When are we going to get pics of the new project? You know what photo ***** those of us on H-T can be.

Alright here are some photos! We call the car "Indy" (short for indigo, because that's sort of what color she is).
The car is a 98 LS with about 180k miles.
The good:
- clean title
- full service records
- two owners
- only one ding in the entire body
- interior is in great shape
- car is almost totally stock. Mods are AEM intake, Eibach lowering springs, short throw shifter
- adriatic blue pearl is a very unique color
The Bad:
- the car has a weak idle. I'm still troubleshooting
- haven't done a compression test yet
- I don't like the shifter
- whoever installed the clutch last set the takup too close to the firewall
The Ugly:
- the paint is in terrible shape. I don't care because I'll repaint eventually but right now it's embarrassing

Looks like a very clean teg. I like that color a lot!!! Might consider that color over the Fuji blue to be different.

Re: Project 'Make Gagnar's Car Nice Again:' My Build Thread
Yeah I've got to decide what to do about the hood. I thought about painting black but I don't want it to look like a boy-racer car. And I could paint it blue but I think it would be hard to match because the upper surfaces on the fenders are faded too
The color is very pretty. I think it darkens and greys up a bit as it fades but if you want to see what it really looks like, look at the door sills in the pics. There is a nice irridescent quality to it that I like. I think it'll look great when I finally repaint the whole car.

I just had a long conversation with the emissions lab in Reno and I got my swap approved, even though I'm using a 96 instead of a 98 engine. I convinced them that there weren't any meaningful differences between the years, so I'm all set to go!!

@speedjunkie - yeah it's definitely a relief. I was gonna be sad if the swap couldn't happen. And probably divorced as well!
@mouab18c1 - the car was wrecked in Missoula in the spring. I couldn't decide what to do with it and I couldn't work on it because I had a newborn and I was finishing my dissertation. So we just trailered it behind the Uhaul when we drove to Reno. It's been sitting in the garage waiting for me to make up my mind since then.
