problems getting my 2000 GS inspected.
my car will not pass the emmisions part of the NYS test, because when it is hooked up to the DMV computer, or any computer reading device, it says that the O2 sensor, catalyst system, and one other thing are "not ready". however the check engine light is not on, it comes on when u turn the key on, but when u start the car it goes off like it is supposed to. does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong. i also forgot to mention there are no Codes on the Computer. thanx guys

Is the car stock?
Try resetting the ECU, and also make sure the car has been driven a bit before heading to the inspection station.

Did you reset the ECU, just before going in for the test? If so, there is no history in the ECU. Otherwise, read the codes yourself and see what you're throwing.

i reset the computer about 300 miles before i got it reinspected. and there are no codes, there is nothing to indicate a problem other than it won't read the systems for some reason.

i believe they're talking about your monitors not being ready. since you just reseted the comp not too long ago, everything was erased. meaning all monitors were cleared. you have to drive a certain about of stop and go traffic to get them ready agian or drive a specific cycle to turn them on. i don't konw about NY but in CA and TX you're allowed to have 2 monitors not ready and still pass.

Yep that is exactly right, also if you have 2 things not ready you'll still pass. To ready everything, drive for 15 minutes, stop and let the car cool down. Then do 15 minutes of freeway driving, again stop and cool down. Then one last set of 15 minutes and it should be good to go.

^^ Most likely not. ^^
That's thrown RIGHT into the system...it would pick it up.
You do have a stock ECU and everything right...none of those OBD1 conversions?
