Default power door lock question

I am new to the forum and the Integra as well.

I have a 95 Integra, and when your inside the car with both doors shut the locks work as they should. When the drivers door is open, the power locks will not lock the door. Is this standard so you have to use the key to lock the door? I have the door panel off right now and cant see anything binding, etc. As the locks work when the door is closed.

The only answer I can think of is you have to lock the door with the key!

Any info would be appreciated.

You dont have to lock the door with a key, you just need to hold the handle when locking it.
