Default please check my reasoning about my tranny noise

Alright, I posted before, but my thoughts and reasoning was flawwed, so I'm going to give it another shot.

Problem: After blowing up my clutch about two months ago, my tranny makes a spinning noise when clutch is engaged (pedal out) wether or not it's in gear.

What I've noticed: Disengage the clutch (push in the pedal) and noise dies down after a second or so. Engage the clutch and noise comes back immediately.

Now, I've thought about this for about a month, and I've thought about some stuff. The transmission has an input shaft the goes into the clutch plate and the pilot bearing into the flywheel. When the clutch is disengaged, the transmission spools down and will eventually stop. This usually takes about a second if it's disengaged at idle, right? So, this noise will be present anytime the transmission is spinning and goes away when the tranny is spooling down. So, since the pilot bearing is new and is always spinning, it's not that. The noise sounds like a bad throwout bearing, but the throwout bearing is new and if it were bad, it would be making noise when the clutch is disengaged (pedal in), not when it's engaged (pedal out). So, the only thing I know of that slows down with the tranny is the input-shaft bearing inside of the transmission, so that's what I think the problem is. When I destroyed my clutch, I shocked everything pretty hard, so I think I damaged that bearing, which is why it's making noise now. Does this sound reasonable?

If this does sound reasonable, how hard would it be to replace that bearing? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

i've got the EXACT same noise from my GSR tranny... I'm using the stock clutch that came with the engine.

I was wondering the same thing kinda?

Would the sound go away if I replaced my clutch and throwout bearing?

Everything is basically new in my setup and the noise is there, so I'm going to replace that bearing and see if the noise goes away.

Mines not that loud though... YOu can just hear it a little bit when cruising.. You have to hvae the car completely quiet to hear it.

Same here. pedal in, no noise. pedal out, noise. whiirrrrring sound. Neutral and first loud as hell, goes away halfway into second gear, gone by third.

I asked a tranny rebuild company and they said the input shaft bearing. I just bought another tranny and ill go back to it some day.

That all makes sense except for one thing. Maybe you just didn't try it exactly this way. If the car is moving and you disengage the clutch but leave the transmission IN GEAR. Then the input shaft will continue to spin, and make noise, while the car is coasting. If you keep the clutch disengaged, then put the transmission in neutral, now it will take a couple seconds to spin down. Does the noise follow this pattern?

You need to be driving to do this test. Obviously, don't do anything stupid in traffic & get somebody hurt...

My car had a similar problem, and also did it when I was driving, the spinning noise getting faster as I accelerated. Turned out to be transmission bearning, got them replaced and the noise was gone.
